• You must be at least 13 years old to use TrailMates.
• If you are under 18, you should have permission from a parent or guardian.

2. Account Responsibilities

• Phone number verification is required to create an account.
• One account per person. Do not create multiple accounts.
• You are responsible for keeping your account secure.
• You are responsible for all activity under your account.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

• Harass, stalk, or intimidate other users.
• Use location data inappropriately or to track people without their knowledge.
• Create fake events or post misleading information.
• Impersonate others or create accounts for someone else.
• Use the app for any illegal purpose.
• Interfere with or disrupt the service.

4. Content Guidelines

• Profile photos must be appropriate and not contain offensive content.
• Event descriptions should be accurate and not misleading.
• Respect other trail users and the TrailMates community.

5. Location Sharing Consent

By using TrailMates, you understand and consent to the following:

• Friends you connect with can see your real-time location while you are on the Ann and Roy Butler Trail.
• Event hosts and group members may see your location during events (based on your settings).
• You can control who sees your location through the app's privacy settings.
• You can enable Do Not Disturb mode to hide your visibility at any time.

6. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. This includes, but is not limited to:

• Harassment or abuse of other users.
• Creating fake or misleading content.
• Violating any applicable laws.
• Repeated violations of these terms.

7. Disclaimers

Trail Safety

• TrailMates does not guarantee trail safety, weather conditions, or trail accessibility.
• Users are responsible for their own safety while using the trail.
• Always be aware of your surroundings and follow trail rules.

No Affiliation

TrailMates is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected to the City of Austin, Austin Parks and Recreation Department, or the official management of the Ann and Roy Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail.

Service Availability

We strive to keep TrailMates available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. The app may be unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TrailMates and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app or any interactions with other users.

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by email. Continued use of TrailMates after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
